Squidoo squidon't?
December 19th 2008 23:27
Alas! My $1.62 Squidoo retirement fund may be a statistical anomaly!
Though I've now created 5 Squidoo lenses on everything from cartoon sheep to fly fishing, my holy grail appears to have snagged on the holy tablecloth.
I understand these things take time. Was it a false dawn that got me so excited? Or is this the darkest hour before the dawn? Will my Alpha ever meet my Omega, or am I just a Delta Dawn?
So many questions, so little passive income.
I warmly welcome your ideas, advice, comments & 'I told you so!'s.

Alas and alack, the dawn slowly cometh, the alpha and omega are as one, no pay attached, rejoice and be exceeding glad for the wealth you've got is all you'll have.
I've learned to enjoy the simple life, fresh air, sunshine and smelling the Roses, add my adcents to you and James and we'll all wait for that swinging good time.
The lens snake has tempted you with the apple, eat up my friend there will be more, just like the pokies.

I have over eighty lenses on Squidoo. I've earned as little as $3-4 per month to as high as $150. This month was small. The month before was about $38.
I've noticed it's a lot harder (though not impossible) to get a high-ranking lens. It could be that my lenses are dreadful...who knows.
Like you, I've fooled with various lens subjects.
I'll still head to Squidoo and make new lenses from time to time.
Good luck with whatever choice you make...You may also want to try eHow. The pay is slow but steady (and you know what they say about slow and steady!).

Although, it will take a little longer to make money as you are gettign paid by the actual affiliate and not hubpages, you will get more. I make an average of $300-$400 a month after all of my affiliate pay. I have similar lenses and hubs and the hubs do better all-around.

Short how-to articles, news bits, op-ed pieces $5-$15 U.S. per accepted article. I still get residuals from Paypal even though I quit there 3 years ago. My advice: save your brilliant writing for another site, This one is strictly a rent-payer. When you accept payment, they own the piece.
Very strange--the piece I wrote that's a regular moneymaker is one I wrote called "Centipedes: household pests or welcome guests?" or something like that. The money keywords in that piece were "household pests". I still answer comments on that article.
