Squidoo SquiDID! My first real passive income after 2.5 years.
January 9th 2009 20:50
Well, it's a red-letter day at Empire House. Today, after 2.5 years of striving & more false dawns than an arctic sleepover, I finally made my first, fair dinkum, cash-in-the-bank passive income!
While I have amassed $22.85 in just a few weeks with REMO, those dollars are only good for REMO products. And while they do have a large range of stuff I can buy for myself & others, it's not quite the same as cold, hard cash.
Anyway, back to the story. I'd logged into Squidoo, expecting to see the usual, derisory $1.62 'credit'. Instead, there was a note informing me that $6.00 had been paid into my PayPal account.
The breakdown from my lenses was $4.22 from CARTOON SHEEP, $0.08 from COPYWRITER CONFESSIONS & $1.82 from JEPARIT. I assume they've rounded down, or that the missing $0.12 will carry over to next month.
Seth Godin does warn that Squidoo takes time. I was starting to lose faith, but my hope is renewed. I'll be fascinated to see what next month brings.
So there you go. Yay! It may be a flash in the pan, or it could be the start of a beautiful relationship. If the latter, then there is life after Google AdSense, even if you're evil.
I very warmly welcome your comments.

Have you spent your money already? I'm watching a few things on eBay-ha ha! Hope they don't go over ten dollars!

I also just found out that it's US dollars, so my $6 just became $8! I had to take some DVDs back this morning & I couldn't bring myself to put $2 in the parking meter after having worked so hard for it. Instead, I spent a nervous 5 minutes waiting in the queue, watching for the parking inspector. What a madman!

I'm getting some pretty respectable adSense credit going, nowhere near $100 payout of course! But someday, my pretties!
